Maryam Nawaz Assures Full Support for Raiwind Ijtima
Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has assured full government support and ordered substantial preparations for the upcoming Raiwind congregation (Ijtema) organized by the Tablighi Jamaat.
She met with senior members of the Jamaat’s Shura and directed authorities to ensure excellent arrangements, security, and infrastructure for attendees.
Maryam Nawaz announced that electro-buses will run for three days from Lahore’s railway station and airport to Raiwind to facilitate transportation. She also instructed the DC, CPO, DIG, and CTO to personally oversee the preparations, including repairs of major roads and patchwork on all routes leading to Raiwind.
In a bid to maintain cleanliness, she ordered a special cleaning campaign starting November 1 through the end of the gathering. Local leaders from the Tablighi Jamaat praised the electro-bus project and the construction of 90,000 houses in recent months. The Jamaat’s representatives also commended the government’s services and the extension of civic cleanliness efforts from cities to rural areas.
Maryam Nawaz’s instructions emphasize efficient transit, infrastructure improvements, and public service, aiming to ensure a well-organized event for thousands of participants expected in Raiwind.
