No Insurgency in Balochistan, Only Foreign-Backed Movements: Sarfaraz Bugti
Quetta: Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti spoke at the 17th National Workshop in Quetta, addressing the ongoing challenges in the province.
Bugti emphasized that there is no insurgency in Balochistan, but rather “so-called separatist movements” aimed at harming Pakistan. He stated that anti-state elements want to divide Pakistan like a cake.
The Chief Minister rejected the narrative of “imbalanced development” in Balochistan, calling it a deliberately created false impression. He also clarified that those who use violence and guns are not just “angry” but are terrorists.
Bugti revealed that the first militant training camp was established in Balochistan on June 21, 2002, which fueled terrorism in the region. He also criticized social media propaganda for widening the gap between youth and the state.
He assured that the government is actively listening to young people’s concerns through universities and various forums.
The Chief Minister accused India’s intelligence agency RAW of playing a clear role in destabilizing Balochistan and said separatists are pleased with India but want to harm Pakistan.
Concluding his speech, Sarfaraz Bugti said, “Politics is less important than the state of Pakistan.”
