Punjab Introduces New Mini-Train for Kids in Lahore — Check Location & Details

14 October, 2025 15:35

The Punjab government has given the green light to launch a mini-train for children near Lahore Railway Station, aiming to enhance recreational facilities for young residents. The decision was made during a meeting chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, who also approved several other beautification and infrastructure initiatives for Lahore.

The mini-train will be installed in the park situated in front of Lahore Railway Station, accompanied by a new fountain designed to entertain visitors. In addition, the Chief Minister sanctioned the construction of roads and footpaths within a three-kilometer radius of the area. She also emphasized that all new roads must be equipped with solar-powered streetlights to promote sustainable development.

Further beautification efforts have been approved for several key locations in Lahore, including Misri Shah, Data Darbar, Aik Moriya, and Do Moriya bridges.

In a bid to modernize the province’s infrastructure, the government has also approved the digitalization of toll plazas. This project will replace traditional paper slips with an electronic toll collection system, implementing a “One App, One System” model similar to the motorway’s system at 38 toll plazas across Punjab.

Other major projects discussed include the development of the 93-kilometer-long Multan–Vehari Road, which will be Punjab’s first “dust-free” road, expected to be completed by June 2026. Additionally, the Quaid-e-Azam Interchange to Wagah Tourism Corridor is slated for completion by June next year.

The Chief Minister concluded the meeting with a clear directive to prioritize modernization and sustainability in all upcoming projects.
