Chairman of Kashmir Council Europe (KCEU) Ali Raza Syed has called for an urgent and serious International community action on Jammu and Kashmir issue.

He was addressing an international event in Seoul, the capital city of Sout Korea on human rights in Jammu and Kashmir. The landmark seminar titled “Black Day: The Cry of Kashmir for Justice and Freedom,” was attended by international figures and human rights advocates, civil society representatives and community people who gathered to condemn the ongoing human rights violations in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and urge the international community to take decisive action to stop these violations of human rights. The event, organized by the International Interchange Development Association (IIDA), brought together people from different walks to life to amplify the voices of the Kashmiri people.

The event also addressed by Dr. Yongjo Mun, Global President of IIDA, and Syed Moazzam H. Shah, Ambassador of Pakistan to South Korea. Ambassador of Pakistan Syed Moazam Shah stated in his address that Pakistan has consistently provided complete support to Kashmiris and will continue to do so in the future. He said that by denying people’s rights in occupied Kashmir and depriving them from their right to self-determination, India is rejecting the maintenance of peace and order in the region. Kashmiris are struggling for the freedom of their homeland under principle of right to self-determination, and according to all international laws and rules, their struggle is legal and legitimate. The Kashmir issue should be resolved in accordance with the UN Charter and its resolutions, he urged.

The President of the International Exchange Development Association Dr. Yongjo Mun said that we support the rights of Kashmiris and will raise awareness about this issue in Korea. He stated that their organization has representatives in thirty countries, and we will raise their voice in support of Kashmiris in other countries as well. The Kashmir issue should be resolved peacefully, and the people of Kashmir should be granted their right to self-determination, he demaned.

In his address, Mr. Ali Raza Syed, Chairman of the Kashmir Council Europe (KCEU), highlighted the historical and ongoing struggles of Kashmiris, citing India’s unilateral revocation of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status on August 5, 2019, as a violation of United Nations resolutions and international law. He emphasized that the region of occupied Kashmir remains the world’s most militarized zone, where dissent is met with repression and fundamental rights are systematically denied.

Mr. Syed also drew attention to the alarming demographic changes in Indian illegally occupied regions of Kashmir, with a large number of non-Kashmiris granted domicile rights, displacing indigenous Kashmiris and exacerbating their political and economic marginalization. He called these actions a clear breach of the Fourth Geneva Convention and urged the global community to hold India accountable.

The seminar featured poignant testimonies about the plight of Kashmiri political leaders, human rights defenders, and journalists such as Yasin Malik, Shabir Ahmad Shah, Khurram Parvez, and Sajjad Gul who remain imprisoned under fabricated charges. Mr. Ali Raza Syed reiterated that despite decades of oppression, the spirit of the Kashmiri people remains unbroken, and their struggle for self-determination, as mandated by UN resolutions, continues peacefully.

Appealing to the international community, Mr. Ali Raza Syed emphasized that the Kashmir issue is not just a grave concern in South Asia, but it related to internation…
