Punjab Cabinet Approves Ban on TLP: Azma Bukhari
Lahore: Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari addressed the media in Lahore, commenting on the political and religious landscape of the country. She said that political and religious parties are part of the system. However, she pointed out that one particular group has recently taken a path of extremism.
Azma Bukhari emphasized that protests can be recorded without blocking roads. She criticized those who block roads whenever they want to raise demands. She also mentioned that a call for protests was made in the name of Gaza.
The Punjab cabinet has approved a summary to ban Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) and sent it to the federal government for final approval. Azma Bukhari stated that the decision is against extremist groups and does not target any religious party, mosque, or madrasa.
Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with a senior representative of the European Union. The leaders discussed growing relations between Pakistan and the EU. Both sides agreed to further strengthen bilateral ties and also talked about regional developments.
