ATC Issues Non-Bailable Arrest Warrants for Aleema Khan
Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Police have formed a special team to arrest Aleema Khan, sister of founder PTI, after an anti-terrorism court (ATC) issued non-bailable arrest warrants for her on Friday due to non-appearance in court.
According to police sources, a special team from Sadiqabad Police Station will leave for Lahore today, carrying the arrest warrants. The warrant lists Aleema Khan’s address as 14 Upper Mall Road, Lahore.
The ATC Rawalpindi issued the non-bailable warrants after Aleema Khan failed to appear in court in connection with the November protest case. The next hearing of the case is scheduled for October 20.
Police have also appointed a separate team to ensure delivery of court summons to the guarantor. Aleema Khan’s bail was secured by Umar Sharif, a resident of Rawalpindi, who submitted surety bonds worth Rs100,000.
According to the court’s summons, if Aleema Khan fails to appear on October 20, legal action will be taken against the guarantor under the law.
Authorities said the police team will coordinate with Lahore officials to execute the warrants in accordance with legal procedures.
