Pakistan Seeks Afghan Action Against Terror Groups in Doha Talks
Islamabad:ย Pakistanโs Defence Minister Khawaja Asif is leading a high-level delegation to Doha, Qatar, for talks with the Afghan Taliban aimed at stopping cross-border terrorism, the Foreign Office confirmed on Friday.
According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, the delegation will discuss ways to ensure the immediate end of cross-border terrorist attacks originating from Afghan territory.
Pakistan has urged the Afghan authorities to take verifiable action against terrorist groups operating from their soil. The spokesperson added that Pakistan appreciates Qatarโs mediation efforts, calling the talks an important step toward regional peace and stability.
โPakistan does not seek confrontation and remains committed to a peaceful resolution of security issues,โ the Foreign Office said, emphasizing that Afghan authorities must honor their international commitments and address Pakistanโs security concerns.
The meeting in Doha is expected to focus on improving border security cooperation, preventing militant infiltration, and reinforcing regional counterterrorism mechanisms.
