Massive Traffic Jam on Lyari Expressway in Karachi

Karachi –  Severe traffic congestion was reported on multiple routes connected to Lyari Expressway, causing major inconvenience to commuters on Monday. Long queues of vehicles were seen stretching from Hassan Square to Sohrab Goth, as authorities unexpectedly closed several connecting roads without prior notice.

Heavy traffic built up after the route from Hassan Square leading to Lyari Expressway was blocked. Drivers were stuck for hours, struggling to find alternative passages.

Another major jam occurred on the Sohrab Goth road that connects to the expressway. The closure created confusion among motorists, with many caught in gridlock and unable to move forward or turn back.

The route from Garden towards Mauripur was also suddenly closed, adding to the chaos. Hundreds of vehicles were seen stuck near the Garden Interchange, where the exit lane was blocked, forcing drivers to wait without clear instructions.

Witnesses reported that vehicles, including buses, cars, and trucks, stood bumper-to-bumper for long stretches. Many passengers, including office workers, students, and transport operators, expressed frustration over the lack of traffic management.

Motorists complained about the absence of traffic police to guide the flow. Some drivers attempted to take service lanes, but those were also clogged due to the high volume of traffic.
