Depalpur: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz addressed a ceremony where flood relief cards were distributed among the victims of recent devastating floods in the region.

Maryam Nawaz said the recent floods severely affected Punjab, causing significant loss of life and property. She expressed that she personally witnessed the painful conditions faced by the flood-affected families.

“The worst floods in history surrounded Punjab, and many citizens suffered heavy losses due to floods and rains,” she said. She also mentioned that she is thankful that many victims have now started returning to their homes.

Maryam Nawaz highlighted the Punjab government’s tireless efforts over the past three weeks, saying the government did not rest and worked hard to help those affected. “We shifted 2.5 million people to safe places,” she said.

She emphasized that the Punjab government fulfilled its responsibilities and provided relief using its own resources without asking for external help. “I have blocked all paths for corruption,” she added.

The Chief Minister assured that the dignity of Punjab’s people was respected during the relief efforts and that no one would be treated unfairly under her leadership.

Maryam Nawaz concluded by saying, “If government money doesn’t serve Punjab, then what is its purpose?”
