NEPRA Orders Reduction in KE Tariff by Rs. 7.60 per Unit
Islamabad: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has ordered a reduction of Rs. 7.60 per unit in K-Electricโs electricity tariff.
NEPRA announced its decision on K-Electricโs multi-year tariff review request for the financial years 2024 to 2030.
According to the decision, NEPRA has lowered K-Electricโs average tariff from Rs. 39.97 per unit to Rs. 32.37 per unit.
NEPRA officials said that their previous decision on the โRight of Claimsโ remains unchanged. This new decision covers K-Electricโs generation, transmission, distribution, and supply charges.
Despite the tariff reduction, a Rs. 50 billion burden on consumers related to the โRight of Claimsโ will remain.
Meanwhile, K-Electricโs spokesperson said the company is reviewing NEPRAโs decision carefully. They stated that the decision covers many aspects of K-Electricโs generation, transmission, distribution, and supply businesses, and the company will explore all legal options regarding this matter.
