SP Operations Asad Zubair, Two Policemen Martyred in Hangu Blast

A powerful explosion in Hangu city, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, claimed the lives of SP Operations Asad Zubair and two police officials on Friday, officials confirmed.

According to initial reports, SP Asad Zubair was traveling with his team to inspect a checkpost damaged during a recent terrorist attack when an improvised explosive device (IED) detonated near his vehicle in the Galmina area of Hangu.

The blast was so intense that the police vehicle was completely destroyed, resulting in the instant martyrdom of SSP Zubair and two other policemen. The bodies were later shifted to a nearby hospital.

Following the explosion, security forces immediately cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to track down those involved in the attack. Bomb disposal units and investigation teams have been deployed to collect evidence from the site.

Authorities suspect that the attack was carried out by militants operating in the region, as law enforcement agencies continue counterterrorism operations under the National Action Plan (NAP).
