Pakistan Exposes Indian Media’s Poisonous Propaganda
Islamabad: Pakistan’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has exposed what it calls a “poisonous propaganda” by Indian media aimed at spreading instability in the region.
According to the ministry, certain Indian news channels openly supported the extremist group Fitna-ul-Khawarij. NDTV allegedly claimed that on October 8, the group ambushed and killed 22 Pakistani soldiers in Kurram. However, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) clarified that the intelligence-based operation actually took place in Orakzai district, not Kurram. In the Orakzai operation, 11 soldiers were martyred while 19 extremists were neutralized.
Similarly, Republic News India falsely reported that Fitna-ul-Khawarij carried out 16 attacks on the Pakistani military within 24 hours. The ISPR confirmed that only 5 extremists were killed in intelligence-based operations, proving the claims to be incorrect.
The Ministry of Information accused Indian media of spreading “baseless propaganda” under the influence of the Modi government, attempting to destabilize the region. It said such reports promote the narrative of terrorists and pose a serious threat to regional security.
