Trump Hails Pakistan’s PM Shehbaz, Field Marshal Asim Munir as Great Leaders
Kuala Lumpur: US President Donald Trump has praised Pakistan’s leadership for its role in promoting peace and stability in the region.
Speaking at the Thailand–Cambodia peace agreement ceremony, President Trump said that both the Field Marshal and the Prime Minister of Pakistan are “great personalities” who have played an important role in achieving regional peace.
He said the United States seeks peace through trade, not war, and that he personally prefers “stopping wars” around the world.
President Trump noted that his administration has helped end eight conflicts so far, emphasizing that mutual respect and economic cooperation are the keys to lasting global peace.
Trump also appreciated Saudi Arabia’s positive role in supporting the Pakistan–Afghanistan ceasefire, saying it opened “new doors to stability and peace” in the region.
