CJCSC General Sahir Shamshad Mirza Meets Bangladesh Army Chief to Strengthen Defence Ties
General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, NI, NI (M), Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), during his official visit to the Peopleβs Republic of Bangladesh, called on General Waker-Uz-Zaman, Chief of Army Staff of the Bangladesh Army, at the Army Headquarters in Dhaka.
During the meeting, both sides expressed satisfaction over the positive trajectory of expanding defence cooperation between Pakistan and Bangladesh. They agreed to continue regular exchange visits and enhance interaction at various levels of military leadership.
The two dignitaries discussed the evolving global and regional security environment, emphasizing the importance of strengthening bilateral collaboration between the armed forces of both nations. Key areas of focus included training, joint military exercises, and experience sharing in counter-terrorism operations.
Both leaders also highlighted the emerging challenges of disinformation and hybrid warfare, recognizing these as shared concerns. They reaffirmed the commitment to enhance cooperation and joint mechanisms to effectively counter such threats across multiple platforms.
The meeting reflected the mutual desire to deepen strategic and defence partnerships, contributing to peace and stability in the region.
