Indian Media Acknowledges Pakistan’s Remarkable Economic Turnaround

An Indian news website has acknowledged Pakistan’s impressive journey toward economic stability, describing it as a “revolutionary transformation” in South Asia between 2023 and 2025.

According to a detailed report published by South Asia Monitor, Pakistan has set an example of macroeconomic recovery through effective government policies, internal reforms, and international financial support.

The report notes that Pakistan’s IMF bailout package and strong domestic reforms helped the country avert default and lay the foundation for long-term economic stability.

The report highlights that Pakistan’s Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) framework has played a key role in reviving global economic diplomacy. Under this framework, foreign investment has increased significantly in mining, energy, IT, and agriculture sectors.

South Asia Monitor further noted that Pakistan has launched major mineral and energy projects with Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates under the new phase of the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

In June 2024, Pakistan and China also agreed to enhance cooperation in the mining and energy sectors.

Strong Economic Indicators

Citing data from the Pakistan Economic Survey 2024–2025, the report said Pakistan’s key financial indicators show substantial improvement:

• GDP reached a 24-year high, supported by a 3% primary surplus.
• Tax revenues rose by 36.7%, while ICT exports increased by 23.7%.
• Inflation dropped sharply from 17.3% last year to just 0.3% in April 2025.
• Monthly remittances remained strong, ranging between $3.8 and $4.0 billion in early 2025.
• The Pakistan Stock Exchange also performed robustly, aligning with major markets in the US, France, and China.

The report concludes that Pakistan’s economic and regional financial stability has become a major factor in restoring investor confidence among emerging economies.
