Karachi Residents Advised to Store Water as Supply Stops for Two Days
The Karachi Water Corporation has announced that water supply will be suspended for two days in three districts of the city due to maintenance work on the Hub Canal.
According to an official notification, the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) has decided to shut down the Hub Canal for 48 hours to carry out inspection and repair work from the Hub Dam to the X-Regulator section.
The Project Director of Hub Dam, WAPDA, informed the Water Corporation that the closure will remain in effect from October 28 to October 29. During this period, water supply will remain temporarily suspended in District West, District Keamari, and District Central.
The Water Corporation has advised residents to store water in advance and use it carefully to avoid inconvenience during the suspension period.
Officials further stated that as soon as the maintenance work is completed and the water supply is restored, the public will be promptly informed.
