Pakistan, China Sign MoU to Boost Quantum Technology with SIFC Support

Islamabad: Pakistan, with support from the State Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), has taken a major step toward the development of quantum technology to strengthen the national economy and promote scientific progress.

Under a newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), Pakistan and China will collaborate in quantum computing and advanced technologies. As part of this initiative, a National Center for Quantum Computing will be established under CPEC Phase II with the support of SIFC.

The agreement aims to promote research, training, innovation, and expert exchange between the two countries. Experts say advancements in quantum computing will not only boost the economy but also drive industrial, scientific, and technological growth.

Quantum technology is expected to play a key role in healthcare, energy, climate research, cybersecurity, traffic, logistics, and defense. The inclusion of advanced Chinese companies will help stabilize the national economy and allow local industries to adopt modern technologies.

SIFC has emphasized that leading a digital revolution and supporting cutting-edge technology are top priorities to put Pakistan on the path to sustainable development.
