India Starts Disinformation Campaign After Operation Sindoor Failure: Info Minister

01 November, 2025 16:13

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Information Atta Tarar said that India cannot accept its defeat on the battlefield and has started a campaign of misinformation and disinformation after the failure of Operation Sindoor.

Speaking at a press conference with Minister of State for Interior Senator Talal Chaudhry, Atta Tarar said that India arrested a Pakistani fisherman named Ejaz Mallah, who was fishing in the sea when Indian Coast Guards detained him.

He revealed that Indian intelligence agencies forced Ejaz Mallah to work for them and sent him back to Pakistan with a mission. According to Tarar, Mallah was instructed to buy uniforms of the Pakistan Navy, Army, and Rangers, along with other sensitive items. Pakistani security agencies began monitoring him when he tried to buy these items.

During his arrest, authorities recovered SIM cards, matchboxes, lighters, and other items from him. Investigations showed that India used the fisherman through financial temptation and pressure, and Mallah confessed to his crime after being caught.

Atta Tarar said that India is frustrated by Pakistan’s military victory and diplomatic success at the global level. “Pakistan is gaining respect internationally, which India cannot tolerate,” he added.

He further said that India has begun suspicious military activities in Gujarat and Kutch, using military drills as a cover for anti-Pakistan propaganda and sabotage efforts.

Tarar accused Indian media of spreading false narratives and said the entire campaign was aimed at defaming Pakistan and misleading the international community.

Who is Ejaz Mallah?

A Pakistani fisherman, Ejaz Mallah, son of Riaz Mallah from District Thatta, has revealed that Indian Coast Guards arrested him in August 2025 while he was fishing and later forced him to work for Indian intelligence agencies in exchange for his release and money.

Ejaz said that after his arrest, Indian officials told him that his release could take two to three years unless he agreed to work for them. “They said if I worked for them, I would be released immediately, and they also offered me money and rewards,” he stated.

Fearing jail and tempted by the offer, Ejaz agreed. He was later released and given a list of items to bring from Pakistan, including uniforms of the Navy, Rangers, and Army, three Zong SIM cards, mobile shop bills, Pakistani matchboxes, cigarette packs, lighters, and old currency notes of Rs. 50 and Rs. 100.

Ejaz said that after returning to Pakistan, he collected all the items and sent photos of them to an Indian intelligence officer named Ashok Kumar. When he later went near the river in October with the items, Pakistani authorities arrested him.

Investigations confirmed that Indian agencies had used the fisherman under pressure and financial temptation for their propaganda and anti-Pakistan activities.

Senator Talal Chaudhry

Senator Talal Chaudhry has said that after facing defeat in Operation Sindoor, India is continuously making new attempts to hide its failure.

Speaking at a press conference, Talal Chaudhry said India has been spreading false claims, sometimes saying there will be an “Operation Sindoor 2,” sometimes refusing to shake hands with players, and other times avoiding taking trophies to cover up its embarrassment.

He added that the recent arrest of an Indian-linked fisherman clearly shows that India is trying to launch another plan — this time through propaganda and disinformation instead of direct action.

“The first was a battlefield operation; now it’s a propaganda operation — and it has been badly exposed,” Talal Chaudhry said.
