Karachi Students Secure Top Positions in MDCAT 2025

Students from Karachi have claimed the top three positions in the MDCAT 2025 examinations, which were conducted under the IBA Sukkur University, according to provisional results released on Friday.

The initial results reveal that Karachi students swept the top ranks, with all three top positions secured by candidates from the city. In addition, 41 of the top 100 candidates in the province also hailed from Karachi. However, despite strong academic performances from students with A-1 and A grades from various education boards in Sindh, many candidates failed to clear the test.

Overall, the results show that 56 percent of MBBS candidates and 48 percent of BDS candidates were unsuccessful. Of the 14,300 students who scored 55 percent (99 marks) or higher, they qualified for MBBS admissions, while 17,123 candidates with 50 percent (90 marks) or more were eligible for BDS programs.

Position Holders:

• First place: Syed Mahmood Khan, from Karachi West, with a score of 175 out of 180.
• Second place (tie): Faisal Ashraf Khan from Korangi, Karachi, and Shiraz Hussain from Qambar Shahdadkot, each scoring 174 marks.
• Third place (tie): Muhammad Riyan Humayun from Karachi East, Mahnoor Shah Nawaz from Korangi, and Hira Abid from Hyderabad, each securing 173 marks.

The Vice Chancellor, Dr. Asif Sheikh, stated that candidates can file objections to the provisional results until 5 pm today. The final results will be announced on Sunday evening.
