Silencing Journalists Is an Attack on Democracy: Bilawal Bhutto Zardari
Islamabad: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that silencing journalists is, in fact, an attack on democracy.
In his message on the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes Against Journalists, Bilawal paid tribute to media workers who have sacrificed their lives for truth, justice, and democracy.
He said the PPP firmly believes in press freedom and democratic values, and despite facing media trials in the past, the party has always supported freedom of expression.
Bilawal strongly condemned the violence against journalists in occupied Kashmir and Gaza, calling the actions of occupying forces a dark chapter in human history.
He praised the courage of journalists who continue to report the truth and said the PPP stands with all members of the press who raise their voices for justice and human rights.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari added that the party envisions a Pakistan where journalists can work freely, with dignity and hope.
