UHS to Shift All Exams to MCQs Starting 2026

The University of Health Sciences (UHS) has announced that, starting from 2026, all examinations will be conducted exclusively through multiple-choice questions (MCQs). This change, as confirmed by national media on Monday, marks a significant shift in the university’s examination policies, affecting both undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

As part of this reform, UHS will eliminate short-answer questions from all exams, including those for the MBBS program. The university has also revised its passing criteria, with students required to achieve a minimum of 65 percent marks in both theory and practical exams to pass. The 65 percent threshold will apply universally across all disciplines and courses offered by UHS.

A spokesperson for the university explained that this policy aims to streamline the assessment process and ensure consistency across various academic programs. The transition to MCQs will be implemented uniformly across both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, reflecting a growing global trend toward objective-based testing.
