How to Cancel a Wrong E-Challan Online? Step by Step Guide
A new online system has been introduced to enable citizens to cancel traffic challans that were issued mistakenly, such as duplicate violations, without the need to visit any office or wait in long queues. The initiative aims to make it easier for drivers to resolve traffic fine issues quickly and efficiently.
The system is designed for cases where a driver receives multiple challans for the same offense due to technical errors or system glitches. Now, drivers can submit a correction request from their mobile phones or computers, streamlining the process.
How to Cancel a Duplicate Challan
To resolve a duplicate challan, users need to:
- Visit the official e-Challan portal.
- Enter the vehicle’s registration number and CNIC.
- Choose the “Review” option to proceed.
- Provide a brief description of the issue — for example, “I received the same challan twice for the same date and time.”
This new digital procedure is expected to alleviate the burden on in-person offices, enhance convenience for drivers, and ensure that any invalid or duplicate challans are quickly removed from the system. Additionally, the service can also be accessed through the Public Safety app, which is available for download on both Android and iOS. The app supports e-Challan review and management, providing users with an easy and efficient way to manage their traffic fines.
The move is part of ongoing efforts to digitize public services and reduce unnecessary in-office visits, improving the overall experience for citizens.
