Police Raids to Arrest Dumper Association Chief Liaquat Mehsud; Gunman Held
KARACHI: Police carried out raids to arrest Dumper Association President Liaquat Mehsud after his gunman allegedly opened fire during a protest in Karachi’s Ramswami area.
According to police, the gunman, identified as Miraj, was arrested soon after the firing incident. The weapon used in the shooting was also recovered.
The protest began after a young man named Shahzaib was killed when a dumper truck hit him near Gizriabad Hospital. The incident sparked anger among local residents, who blocked roads and confronted the Dumper Association officials when they arrived.
As tensions rose, Mehsud’s security guard reportedly fired shots, spreading panic in the area.
Police have increased security in Ramswami and launched a search operation to arrest Liaquat Mehsud. Officials said more legal action will follow soon and that efforts are being made to maintain peace and deliver justice to the victim’s family.
