Shaheed Benazirabad, November 6, 2025 — The Deputy Commissioner of Shaheed Benazirabad, Abdul Samad Nizamani, has announced a public holiday on Monday, 17 November 2025, on the occasion of the 754th annual Urs of Syed Asghar Ali Shah, popularly known as Sakhi Jam Datar (RA).
According to the official notification issued by the district administration, all government offices, public departments, and educational institutions in the district will remain closed on that day.
Three-day Urs celebrations from 17 to 19 November
The three-day Urs celebrations will be held from 17 to 19 November in the historic town of Jam Sahib. Thousands of devotees and visitors from across Sindh and other parts of Pakistan are expected to participate in the spiritual event.
During the Urs, there will be religious gatherings, Sufi music performances, special prayers, and langar (free food distribution) for the devotees.
The district administration and police have finalized special security, traffic, and cleanliness arrangements for the Urs celebrations.
Check posts have been set up at all major entry and exit points, while medical camps and a control room will also be established to respond to any emergency situations quickly.
Officials confirmed that various departments at the district level are working in coordination to ensure that pilgrims face no inconvenience during the celebrations.
