Sindh Government Lifts Ban on Hiring Grades 5–15

08 November, 2025 16:47

Karachi: The Sindh government has lifted the ban on government hiring from Grade 5 to Grade 15 and allowed all departments to begin recruitment according to the rules. A notification has been issued to start the process immediately.

This decision comes shortly after Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah launched the Sindh Job Portal (SJP) on October 28 in Karachi, making Sindh the first province in Pakistan to have a centralized online job application system for government departments.

The Sindh Job Portal, developed by the Science and Information Technology Department in collaboration with Sukkur IBA University, allows candidates to register, upload documents, and apply for various government vacancies in a transparent and efficient way.

During the launch, CM Murad Ali Shah said the initiative reflects the vision of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto for equal job opportunities and transparent hiring.

He announced that recruitment for Grade 1 to 5 positions would start within 15 days, while higher-grade vacancies would be filled later through the same digital system.

The new online portal also includes features like online test scheduling, real-time result updates, and coordination with the Finance Department to avoid delays, ensuring a fair and accountable recruitment process across Sindh.
