General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) of Pakistan, visited the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on an official trip where he met with General Fayyadh bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili, the Chief of the General Staff of the Saudi Armed Forces. The two military leaders discussed the evolving global and regional security environment and explored ways to further enhance defence cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of both nations to deepen their longstanding brotherly ties and strengthen their enduring defence partnership. General Mirza’s contributions, particularly in fostering military-to-military relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, were recognized when he was awarded the prestigious “King Abdulaziz Medal of Honour of the Excellent Class.”
In addition to the medal, the Saudi military leadership praised the professionalism and sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces, particularly in their fight against terrorism. The visit underscored the continued mutual respect and cooperation between the two nations in the field of defence and security.
