Today, November 9, marks the 148th birth anniversary of Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal — the great philosopher, poet, and thinker of Pakistan. The day was observed with deep respect and admiration across the country.
A graceful ceremony of changing of the guards was held at the Mausoleum of Allama Iqbal in Lahore. On this occasion, a smartly turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Navy took over the duties of the ceremonial guards.
During the ceremony, the contingent of Pakistan Rangers (Punjab) handed over their responsibilities, and the Pakistan Navy personnel assumed charge as the new honorary guards at the mausoleum. The ceremony reflected the nation’s deep love and respect for Dr. Iqbal.
Rear Admiral Sohail Ahmed Azmi, Commander Central Punjab, Pakistan Navy, was the chief guest at the event. He inspected the parade and witnessed the formal guard-changing ceremony.
Rear Admiral Azmi also laid a floral wreath at the tomb of Allama Iqbal and offered Fateha for the soul of the great poet. Senior naval officers, government representatives, and citizens attended the ceremony.
At the end of the event, Rear Admiral Sohail Ahmed Azmi wrote his remarks in the visitors’ book, describing Allama Iqbal’s intellectual legacy as a guiding light for national unity and progress.
