If Farmers Prosper, the Country Will Prosper: Bilawal Bhutto

LARKANA: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari said that if farmers become prosperous, the entire country will prosper. He was speaking at a special event organized for farmers in Larkana.

Bilawal said that Pakistan’s economy had been suffering for a long time and that provincial powers were restricted under pressure from the IMF.

He added that fertilizer and electricity prices had increased sharply, creating serious problems for the farming community.

Government to Bear Fertilizer Costs

Bilawal announced that the Sindh government has always taken practical steps to support farmers. The government will now cover the cost of urea and DAP fertilizers to help reduce the burden on farmers.

He said that financial assistance will be provided to farmers owning one to twenty-five acres of land.

Benazir Hari Card Supporting 90% of Farmers

Bilawal also revealed that 90% of Sindh’s farmers are now benefiting from the Benazir Hari Card program. Under this initiative, farmers receive subsidized fertilizers and essential supplies to support agricultural production.

He praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for accepting the Sindh government’s request to waive electricity bills for farmers affected by floods, which provided relief to thousands of growers.

Bilawal concluded by saying that supporting farmers is essential for Pakistan’s economic stability and food security.
