NADRA issues new alert for married citizens across Pakistan
The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has asked all married citizens to update their marital status in official records as soon as possible to avoid legal issues in the future.
In a post shared on Facebook, NADRA said that many people have registered their marriages with the Union Council but have not updated their marital status in the NADRA system. The authority advised such citizens to visit the nearest NADRA center and update their records to ensure accuracy.
This step is part of NADRA’s effort to keep citizens’ data correct and up to date. To make the process easier, NADRA has also launched an SMS service to guide married citizens about the update.

For help or more information, citizens can call NADRA’s helpline at 1777 (for mobile users) or 051-111-786-100, or visit the official website www.nadra.gov.pk.
Marital Status Update Fee
NADRA charges Rs100 to update marital status on a CNIC. The update is listed as an “unprintable alteration.” Applicants need to provide documents such as their marriage certificate or Nikahnama when applying for the change.
