The Sindh Home Department has dismissed circulating claims of a security threat alert for Karachi, clarifying that no such notification has been issued by the government. The statement came after a fabricated letter titled “Immediate Security Alert Increased Threat Level from 12 to 30 November 2025” began circulating widely on social media, allegedly from the office of the Additional Chief Secretary (Home).
In an official response, the Sindh Home Department clarified that “It has come to the notice of the Home Department that a fabricated notification titled Immediate Security Alert Increased Threat Level from 12 to 30 November 2025 is being circulated on social media under the name of the Additional Chief Secretary (Home),” and further emphasized that no such official communication had been issued.
The statement also outlined that “no official correspondence bearing the mentioned reference number or title had been released by the Home Department or any law enforcement agency operating under its control.”
The department reminded the public that all legitimate security advisories, alerts, and notifications are issued exclusively through the official channels of the Home Department or authorized law enforcement agencies.
In its statement, the provincial government urged both the public and media outlets to “avoid sharing unverified information” and to always verify any such communications through official sources before sharing or circulating them.
The clarification comes as a precautionary step to prevent unnecessary panic and confusion caused by false alerts and highlights the importance of trusting only official information for security-related updates.
