Big Blow to PTI as Key Leader Switches to PPP
Azad Jammu and Kashmir’s senior parliamentarian and Education Minister, Dewan Ali Chughtai, has formally joined the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).
He announced his decision during a meeting with PPP leader Faryal Talpur at Zardari House in Islamabad.
Several senior PPP leaders, including Chaudhry Muhammad Riaz, Minister Zia-ul-Qamar, and Advisor Sardar Ahmed Saghir, were also present. Faryal Talpur warmly welcomed Chughtai into the party.
Dewan Ali Chughtai said he has full confidence in the leadership of the PPP and pledged to work for public development, equality, and empowerment in Azad Kashmir.
Political analysts say his joining the PPP is seen as a significant development in AJK’s current political landscape.
