General Sahir Shamshad Mirza Pays Farewell Visit to COAS General Asim Munir at GHQ

General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, NI, NI (M), Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), paid his farewell visit to Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), at the General Headquarters (GHQ) today.

During the meeting, the COAS praised General Sahir Shamshad Mirza for his long and distinguished service. He admired his strong leadership, clear vision, and commitment to the Pakistan Armed Forces. General Asim Munir highlighted how General Sahir played a key role in improving coordination among the three services and strengthening joint operational readiness.

The COAS also appreciated General Sahir’s efforts in promoting regional peace and improving military diplomacy. He noted that the CJCSC helped deepen Pakistan’s defence ties with friendly countries and supported important national security goals.

General Sahir Shamshad Mirza thanked the COAS for his support throughout his career. He also expressed his gratitude to the Armed Forces for the trust and cooperation he received in every assignment.

When the CJCSC arrived at GHQ, he laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada to honour the martyrs. A well-turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Army also presented him with a Guard of Honour as part of the farewell ceremony.
