25 November, 2025 15:24

ISLAMABAD: Justice Raja Inam Ameen Minhas of the Islamabad High Court fell ill during a court hearing and had to be taken to Kulsoom International Hospital, sources confirmed.

The incident occurred while Justice Minhas was presiding over a case, and he lost consciousness during the proceedings.

Chief Justice Sarfaraz Dogar and other judges were also present at the hospital following the emergency.

Authorities are monitoring his condition closely, and further updates on his health are expected soon.

Earlier, significant progress has emerged on the plea to close Pakistan Tehreek-insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan’s X (formerly Twitter) account, in which the Superintendent of Adiala Jail has submitted his detailed response to the court.

The Adiala Jail superintendent clarified in his response that the PTI founder is under strict surveillance in the jail, and there is no question of him having any prohibited items, including a cell phone.

However, the response submitted to the Islamabad High Court (IHC) additionally said that any restricted item, including mobile phones, is not permissible under the jail rules, while cell phone signal jammers are installed inside Adiala Jail, due to which mobile signals are completely blocked inside and around the jail.

The superintendent further stated that the PTI founder and his staff are completely searched; therefore, it is not possible for them to access any prohibited facilities.

Moreover, as per Jail Rule 265, it also prohibits the imprisoned PTI founder from political discussions, but family members and legal experts who visit him during his prison trial sometimes engage in political discussions, violating the law.

Previously, the prison superintendent took the stance that political instructions given from the PTI founder from prison had incited violence on many occasions in society, but his X account was not operating from inside the jail.

He, in addition, revealed that the account is being operated by someone from outside the prison and that neither mobile nor internet facilities are available inside the prison.

Meanwhile, the founder of PTI has only access to facilities provided in accordance with prison rules or court orders.
