National Security at Risk Due to One Individual’s Mindset: DG ISPR

05 December, 2025 15:32

DG ISPR, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, stated that he congratulates everyone on the appointment of the Chief of Defence Forces, adding that the headquarters of the Chief of Defence Forces has also been inaugurated.

He said that one person believes “if I am not there, then I am nothing,” and that this individual’s narrative has become a threat to national security. According to him, this person has become a national threat and is a prisoner of his own nature. He emphasized that one-man politics is over and questioned whether this individual wants to pave the way for another country’s army, asserting that what he desires “cannot happen.”

The DG ISPR said that after a recent meeting, a continuous narrative is being spread against the Pakistan Armed Forces from jail. He added that certain narratives are being created to stop overseas remittances and to prevent the IMF from providing loans. He warned that anyone who attacks the army for their own interests will be dealt with firmly.

He reiterated that the army must be kept away from politics and that the institution does not carry the flag of any political party. He stated, “We will not allow a rift to be created between the state and the people.” He urged political actors to conduct their own politics without involving the army. He further said that if someone believes that being in power is democracy, then this is not democracy but dictatorship. He questioned why the same individual does not discuss the government of a province.

DG ISPR also stated that this person’s biggest facilitator is the Indian media. Referring to a recent tweet, he said that it demonstrates how narratives are being crafted, adding that certain RAW-linked accounts are driving this narrative. He questioned, “Who are you? Whose language are you speaking?” and claimed that this person had previously ordered an attack on GHQ.

He further remarked that, according to this individual’s logic, anyone in ISPR is a traitor, and by extension, even the students he has met would be considered traitors. He asked where this person is obtaining such ideas and what message he is trying to convey to the country. He said that everyone can now see the effects of this individual’s mental condition.

DG ISPR emphasized that “If you are in power, it is not democracy, it is dictatorship.” He questioned why certain individuals do not discuss the government of a province.

He highlighted security concerns, saying that there were attempts to open an office of Fitna-ul-Kharij in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He questioned the legality of meetings with criminals, asking, “What is this constitution and law under which you meet a criminal?” He added, “What problem would there be in calling the person who set fire to the monuments of martyrs a traitor to the Pakistan Army?”

The DG ISPR criticized those who believe they know everything, stating, “He thinks he knows everything; everyone else is wrong.” He added that cooperation with the army’s objectives ensures smooth functioning: “If you work for it and go with it, everything will be fine.”

He questioned the priorities of political parties, saying, “You are a big political party; why don’t you talk about terrorism?” He noted that those who stand against terrorism are attacked by Fitna-ul-Kharijites. He criticized parties distancing themselves from responsibility, saying, “When asked by his party, they say we don’t know where the narrative is coming from.”

DG ISPR stressed accountability and truth: “Why don’t you talk about your politics? This business of lies and deceit will not continue in the country anymore. We are right and will remain right. We have sworn to protect this state.” He added that Pakistan’s soldiers, officers, and children are ready to sacrifice their lives daily for the country, and “Everyone knows that we have no identity apart from the state.”

He warned that anyone who considers themselves above the state is mistaken. DG ISPR also criticized organized anti-army narratives, stating, “They are running this anti-army narrative in an organized manner. What is your problem with the army? Their entire politics revolves around the army. From the sick to the sick, everyone talks about the army. Oh brother, grow up, come to the real narrative. Ending fake narratives is the need of the hour.”

He further said that misinformation cannot deceive the people: “They think they can fool the people; that cannot be done. The people of Pakistan are very conscious.”

DG ISPR emphasized the army’s connection to the people: “A soldier and an officer do not belong to any clerk or babu. Kharijites have no connection with the religion of Islam. Army officers come from the lower and middle classes. We are from the people; no one can differentiate between the people and the army.”

He addressed the misconception that the army engages in politics: “The army cannot fight only through politics. The army has shown by fighting, and it resonated all over the world.” He stated that decisions regarding Governor’s rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be made accordingly, and reassured that the army will remain as long as Pakistan exists: “We are not going anywhere. We are standing and will continue to stand. We are right and will continue to stand. Even his father cannot create a rift between the people and the Pakistan Army.”
