Islamabad traffic alert for December 8-9 [Check Alternate Routes]
Islamabad traffic authorities have issued a warning about expected heavy traffic on major roads on December 8 and 9. Commuters are advised to plan ahead and consider alternative routes to avoid delays.
The peak traffic hours are expected to be from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on December 8 and from 9:00 pm to 10:00 pm on December 9. Roads likely to be affected include Faizal Avenue, Express Highway, and Srinagar Highway.
As part of traffic management, Express Chowk and Marriott Gate in the Red Zone will be closed. Drivers traveling to the Red Zone are advised to use Serena, Nadra, and Margalla Road.
For commuters coming from Rawalpindi to Islamabad, alternate routes include Rawal Road, Ninth Avenue, Fakhr-e-Ap Road, and Srinagar Highway. Those heading to Rawalpindi from Islamabad can use Zero Point, Srinagar Highway, and Ninth Avenue. Residents from Muri and Bara Kaho are advised to take Koreng Road, Bani Gala, Park Road, and Lehtrar Road to avoid traffic jams.
Islamabad Traffic Police will have officers stationed at key points to help guide drivers and manage traffic during the busy hours.
