PM Addresses National Ulema Convention, Calls for Unity and Progress

Islamabad: The National Ulema Convention was held in Islamabad, where Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif emphasized the need for national unity, an end to sectarianism, and continued commitment to the country’s progress and security.

Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister prayed for Allah Almighty to grant a great victory in the battle of truth. He said that Pakistan achieved a historic victory against India with the prayers of the Ulema and the unshakable support of the nation.

The Prime Minister praised Field Marshal Asim Munir for leading the war against India with courage and determination. He added that this success was made possible through the combined efforts of all the armed forces, with every soldier displaying extraordinary bravery on the battlefield.

PM Shahbaz Sharif said the Pakistan Army delivered a befitting response to the enemy and reaffirmed that the country cannot progress without unity. “Ending sectarianism is the need of the hour,” he stressed.

He strongly condemned the ongoing attacks by Khawarij elements from Afghanistan, who he said are martyring innocent Pakistani citizens and youth. “If the sacrifices of our martyrs are mocked, then who will respect Pakistan?” he questioned.

Highlighting the country’s economic direction, the Prime Minister said Pakistan is moving towards a journey of full development and prosperity. He noted that both political and military leadership worked together to achieve recent economic successes. “We will repay our loans and create our own wealth,” he said, assuring the nation that the government will work day and night for progress and prosperity.

PM Shahbaz Sharif also reiterated that ending terrorism is essential for national development. He expressed grief over the martyrdom of innocent Pakistanis in attacks carried out by Khawarij militants.

He further stated that Pakistan’s friendly nations consider Pakistan’s victory against India as their own victory, reflecting strong international support.

The convention concluded with a collective call for unity, peace, and national harmony to ensure the country’s continued strength and stability.
