Lahore woman stops Bilawal, says ‘Talk About Us,’ video goes viral

LAHORE:  A human moment stood out during Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari’s visit when a woman briefly interrupted him as he was speaking to mediapersons in the inner city of Lahore on Tuesday. Bilawal was standing on a rooftop while addressing reporters.

A video that went viral on social media shows Bilawal talking to journalists in the Baghbanpura area, saying: “At this moment, we are standing in the inner city of Lahore, and the way things are here… if we talk about Lahore—” when suddenly a voice from a nearby rooftop interrupted him: “Talk about us, not about politics.”

Bilawal paused, turned toward the woman and asked: “I shouldn’t talk about politics here, what should I talk about you? You tell me. You tell me, what should I talk about? What should I say about you?”

The woman instantly replied: “May Allah keep you safe.”
Bilawal smiled and responded: “Thank you very much — this is exactly what I was talking about. Thank you, thank you,” before continuing his media talk.

This interaction took place during Bilawal’s visit to Chaman Park in Baghbanpura, where he went to offer condolences to the family of veteran PPP worker Comrade Zubeida Shaheen. He met Shaheen’s daughters – Zahida, Shahida, Abida, Rubab and Hijab Jafri – and expressed grief over her passing, while highlighting the party’s respect for long-serving members.

PPP officials said the rooftop moment showed how people want to be acknowledged beyond political speeches. Observers added that such unscripted exchanges often highlight real human feelings and bring attention to local concerns.

Bilawal’s visit was part of the PPP’s continued outreach in Lahore, where the party has been holding meetings with residents. Although the interruption was light and friendly, it showed that connecting with people on a personal level still matters in politics.

The video has since spread widely online, with many users appreciating the simplicity of the woman’s message. Her words reflected a common feeling among citizens who believe political debates often overlook the everyday struggles of ordinary people.
