North Waziristan Madrassa Blast: 2 Children Dead, 8 Injured

11 December, 2025 17:24

North Waziristan: A tragic incident occurred in the village of Iswari in North Waziristan when an old explosive device, left behind by terrorists, detonated inside a local madrassa.

The blast resulted in the deaths of two innocent children and injuries to eight others. Local medical facilities were immediately contacted, and the injured children are receiving emergency treatment.

The accident happened when the children accidentally came into contact with the explosive material left by militants.

During the war on terror, militants in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa planted extensive explosive devices and landmines to block security forces and spread terror. In the past, the hills near Iswari have also been used by militants for such attacks.

Similar incidents have been reported earlier in Bajaur, Lakki Marwat, and other areas, showing that civilians, especially women and children, have often been victims of terrorist activities.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a total of 114 square kilometers of land had previously been identified with explosive devices and landmines. Thanks to the professional efforts of the Pakistan Army, 82 square kilometers have now been completely cleared. Work continues day and night to clear the remaining areas and make them safe for the public.

The Pakistan Army’s efforts aim to protect civilians from accidents caused by leftover explosives, as militants’ deadly and terrorist activities have historically caused destruction and loss of life, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
