Six Injured in Gas Cylinder Blast in Karachi’s Jacob Lines

KARACHI — Wednesday morning, a gas cylinder explosion inside a house in Karachi’s Jacob Lines area left six people severely injured, including a woman and five children. The incident shocked the neighborhood and caused heavy damage to the small house.

How the Blast Happened

According to rescue officials, the woman living in the house accidentally left the gas supply open during the night. When she lit a matchstick early in the morning, the gas collected inside the room exploded immediately.

The sudden blast smashed the doors, damaged the walls and filled the entire house with flames and smoke.

Neighbors Rushed to Help

Residents rushed out of their homes after hearing the explosion. Several neighbors tried to control the fire on their own before the rescue teams arrived. They also helped pull the injured victims out of the burning house.

Rescue workers later reached the site and shifted all injured individuals to the hospital.

Condition of the Injured

Officials confirmed that the injured include three young girls, two boys, and the woman.
Two children and the woman suffered serious burns and remain under treatment. Doctors have said that their condition is critical but stable.

The remaining three children received minor injuries and were treated quickly.

Investigation Underway

Authorities said that the house will be inspected to assess structural damage. Rescue teams have also advised residents to check gas connections regularly to prevent similar accidents in the future.
