YouTuber Adil Raja apologises to Brig (retd) Rashid Naseer

11 December, 2025 18:36

YouTuber Adil Raja has admitted that the allegations he made against Brig (retd) Rashid Naseer were completely false and baseless. His admission came after a directive from the London High Court, which ruled that Raja had no legal defence for his claims.

The court issued two warnings to Raja, telling him that failing to follow the court’s orders would count as contempt of court. This could lead to heavy fines, jail time, or even the seizure of his assets.

According to the order issued by Deputy High Court Judge Richard Spearman KC, Raja was told to publish the court’s decision on all his social media accounts — including X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, YouTube, and his official website.

In the summary he posted, Raja confirmed that the court had ordered him on October 9, 2025, to pay £50,000 (around Rs20 million) in damages to Brig Naseer. He was also told to pay £260,000 in legal costs by December 22, 2025. The High Court also said that his apology and the court’s summary must stay online for 28 days.

Raja admitted that between June 14 and June 29, 2022, he made several defamatory claims against Brig Naseer. He stated clearly that he has no defence for those statements. He also shared the full link to the court’s verdict.

The London High Court found that Raja had falsely accused Brig Naseer of corruption, election rigging, judicial manipulation, and other serious wrongdoing. The court ruled that these claims were not only untrue but also malicious.

Raja had even claimed that Brig Naseer was influencing court decisions and shaping political outcomes. The judge dismissed all these allegations due to lack of evidence.

Judge Spearman also ordered that Raja must not publish any future statements — directly or indirectly — that defame Brig Naseer or anyone associated with him.

This legal case began on August 11, 2022, when Brig Naseer filed a defamation lawsuit in London. He accused Raja of trying to damage his reputation through online posts made in June 2022.

The High Court made it clear that social media is not a free zone for making false accusations. Online speech can still lead to serious legal consequences if it harms someone’s reputation.

The ruling also comes after earlier hearings where the court refused Raja’s requests to reduce the penalties, reinforcing how seriously UK courts treat defamation on the internet.
