Pakistan Has Immense Potential in Digital Assets: Bilal bin Saqib

Islamabad: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Blockchain and Crypto Bilal bin Saqib has said that Pakistan has immense potential to create digital assets, with 30 to 40 million Pakistanis using digital assets.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Bilal bin Saqib said that for the first time in history, an organized, transparent, and world-class path has been opened for exchanges. This move reflects new thinking and institutional change.

He said that the issuance of NOCs to Binance and HTX is a practical step towards new thinking. Under the framework, it will be possible to monitor anti-money laundering and terrorist financing. The world’s major financial centers adopt similar phased models. Pakistan is among the first 3 countries in the world to adopt crypto.

He said that we have to make timely and correct decisions under the global financial system. Without a legal and orderly path, capabilities are of no use.

Bilal bin Saqib said that 30 to 40 million Pakistanis are using digital assets, Pakistan has immense potential to adopt digital assets, the $100 trillion global bond market is moving towards digital rails, and the framework is not only beneficial for trading but also for industries.

The Special Assistant to the Prime Minister said that Pakistan will have consolidated its independence through technology in the next 10 years. The future of Pakistan should not be imported; it should be built here by you. Our young generation is world-class. You cannot ignore or eliminate innovation. You have to bring the right policies.

He said that the opportunities that Pakistan has are available to very few countries. We want to regulate crypto. Talent is beneficial only when it has a legal structure or framework. We need to provide a path for talent.

Bilal bin Saqib further said that the framework is not just for trading; under this framework, we want to prepare Pakistan for the industries of 2050, and we want Pakistani youth to not just become consumers but also become global experts.
