Mustafa Kamal Accuses MQM Founder of Dr Imran Farooq Murder
Karachi: Federal Minister for Health Mustafa Kamal on Sunday made serious allegations against the founder of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), accusing him of involvement in the murder of Dr Imran Farooq and of receiving funding from India’s intelligence agency, RAW.
Addressing a press conference in Karachi, Mustafa Kamal claimed that the MQM founder had “staged drama” over the body of Dr Imran Farooq’s wife and collected millions of pounds in donations to bring the body to Pakistan.
He alleged that Dr Imran Farooq was murdered on the orders of the MQM founder and that the killing was presented as a “birthday gift” to him. Kamal said all details related to the murder were available and demanded the arrest of the real perpetrators involved in the case.
The federal minister described the MQM founder as a “national criminal and traitor,” accusing him of destroying generations and causing widespread violence. “He filled graveyards and prisons and made countless youths disappear,” Kamal claimed.
Mustafa Kamal further alleged that the MQM founder received funding from India’s intelligence agency RAW for 25 years, calling it a serious threat to Pakistan’s national security.
Referring to the UK judicial system, Kamal said Britain has strong courts and investigative institutions and questioned why the MQM founder had never filed a petition there to help bring Dr Imran Farooq’s killers to justice.
“I am ready to personally finance the reopening of Dr Imran Farooq’s case,” Kamal said, adding that he was willing to appear before British courts. He challenged the MQM founder to reopen the case and face the courts with courage.
Meanwhile, Minister of State for Law and Justice Barrister Aqeel Malik also addressed the media, criticizing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) over its social media presence.
Barrister Aqeel Malik said PTI’s claims of popularity on social media were misleading and based on artificial reach and propaganda. He alleged that PTI had no genuine followers and relied on manufactured trends to create an illusion of public support.
He added that PTI’s politics was based on negative narratives and falsehoods, stating that the reality of the party had now been exposed before the public.
