Pakistan govt releases official holidays schedule for 2026
The Government of Pakistan has released the complete schedule of official holidays for 2026. The list includes national, religious, and bank holidays, allowing citizens and employees to plan their holidays in advance.
This year, there will be approximately 17 public holidays, including important occasions such as Kashmir Day, Eid ul-Fitr, Pakistan Day, Labour Day, Eid ul-Adha, Independence Day, Eid Milad-un-Nabi ï·º, Iqbal Day, Quaid-e-Azam Day, and Christmas.
Key Holidays for 2026:
February 5 (Thursday): Kashmir Day
March 21–23 (Saturday to Monday): Eid ul-Fitr
March 23 (Monday): Pakistan Day
May 1 (Friday): Labour Day
May 27–28: Eid ul-Adha
May 28 (Thursday): Youm-e-Takbeer
June 25–26: Ashura
August 14 (Friday): Independence Day
August 25 (Tuesday): Eid Milad-un-Nabi ï·º
November 9 (Monday): Iqbal Day
December 25 (Friday): Quaid-e-Azam Day and Christmas
December 26 (Saturday): Holiday after Christmas (for Christian employees only)
Experts note that some religious holidays depend on the moon sighting, so dates may change slightly. Citizens and offices are advised to finalize their plans after the official government notification.
