ISLAMABAD: The year 2026 will feature four important eclipses, including two solar and two lunar events. While some of these eclipses will be visible worldwide, Pakistan may miss out on a few of them, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
First Solar Eclipse – February 17, 2026
The first eclipse of the year is an annular solar eclipse. It will be fully visible in Antarctica, while parts of Africa, South America, and the oceans will see it partially. Unfortunately, Pakistan will not see this eclipse.

First Total Lunar Eclipse – March 3, 2026
The total lunar eclipse will be visible across Europe, Asia, Australia, North and South America, and parts of the oceans. In Pakistan, it will be partially visible at moonrise.

Second Solar Eclipse – August 12-13, 2026
A total solar eclipse will occur over Greenland, Iceland, Spain, Russia, and parts of Portugal. Partial visibility will be seen in Europe, Africa, North America, and some oceans. Pakistan will not see this eclipse.

The year ends with a partial lunar eclipse visible in Europe, Western Asia, Africa, North and South America, and some oceans. Pakistan will not see this eclipse.
