Missile Program Non-Negotiable as Iran Takes Categorical Stance
Tehran: Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh has taken a categorical stance, saying that Iran’s missile program is a fundamental pillar of national defense and security, which cannot be made a subject of negotiations at any level.
Speaking during a meeting with the family of former Revolutionary Guards chief Martyr Hossein Salami, he said that Iran’s defense power, especially missile capability, is linked to national sovereignty, and no flexibility will be shown on it.
Brigadier General Nasirzadeh said that Martyr Hossein Salami and other senior military leaders played a key role in the development of Iran’s missile program and modern defense technology. Under their leadership, the defense sector received a new direction, and the capabilities of the armed forces significantly increased.
The Defense Minister said that Shaheed Salami was not only an experienced military commander but was also known as a dignified and knowledgeable personality who kept a keen eye on changing global threats and defense challenges.
He said that due to the strategy and leadership of Shahid Salami, Iran established a strong defensive balance, the effects of which were clearly seen during the recent twelve-day escalation, when the opposing forces were forced to come to a ceasefire.
The Iranian Defense Minister reiterated his determination that Iran will not yield to any pressure to protect and strengthen its defense capabilities and that no compromise will be made on national security.
