Female student Fatima critical after falling from University of Lahore building

A 21-year-old female student Fatima was taken to hospital in critical condition after falling from the second floor of the University of Lahore on Monday.

The injured student has been identified as Fatima, according to sources. Videos shared on social media showed fellow students rushing her to a nearby medical facility moments after the incident.

Cause of Fall Still Unclear

Authorities have not yet confirmed whether the fall was accidental or an attempt to take her own life. The university administration has so far not issued an official statement explaining the circumstances of the incident.

Police said an investigation is under way to determine what led to the fall and whether any foul play was involved.

Incident Follows Recent Tragedy

The incident occurred only days after another tragic case at the same university. Earlier, 21-year-old Muhammad Owais died after taking his own life, raising serious concerns about student safety and mental health on campus.

Students and parents have since expressed anxiety over repeated incidents within a short period.

University Closed Indefinitely

Following the incident, the University of Lahore administration announced the indefinite closure of the campus. Officials said the decision was taken to protect students and ensure their safety and well-being.

A university spokesperson said the closure would remain in effect until further notice.

Police Investigation Ongoing

Local police have confirmed that statements are being recorded and CCTV footage is being reviewed. Authorities said they would share further details once the investigation is complete.
