NPAC, DG ISPR Pledge Unity Against Terrorism, Anti-State Narratives
On January 13, 2026, the National Peace and Advisory Council (NPAC) met with the Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) at GHQ, where the council assured full cooperation for the promotion of the national narrative.
The participants expressed unwavering solidarity with the Pakistani armed forces and a shared resolve against anti-state narratives.
During the session, the NPAC condemned Fitna al-Khawarij and the Afghan Taliban, stating unequivocally that there is no justification for terrorism.
The DG ISPR emphasized that unity in national security matters and a broad consensus on the national narrative are the need of the hour.

Comprehensive discussions were held regarding internal security in the context of Fitna al-Khawarij, the TTP, and the TTA, which served to further strengthen the common position of both sides. Furthermore, the DG ISPR affirmed Pakistan’s principled stand on Kashmir and Gaza, noting that supporting the oppressed is a core moral responsibility of the state.
To promote internal stability, the NPAC announced a nationwide initiative to spread the message of national unity, social harmony, and constitutional equality from the pulpit and mihrab.
Both sides agreed to adopt a zero-tolerance policy against hate speech, sectarianism, and Takfiri narratives. The DG ISPR noted that public awareness and a truthful narrative are decisive weapons in countering the enemy’s psychological warfare. To support this, the NPAC proposed increasing guidance sessions in mosques, madrassas, and universities to better promote the state narrative.
Terming the meeting exceptionally useful, both sides expressed high hopes for progress through new avenues of trust and practical cooperation.
