Pakistan passport rankings 2026: full list of visa-free countries
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistani passport has improved slightly in the latest Henley & Partners Passport Index, moving up five places to 98th from last year’s 103rd. Despite this rise, it remains one of the weakest passports in the world.
Visa-Free Access
Pakistani passport holders can travel visa-free to 31 countries. Pakistan shares this 98th spot with Yemen, while countries ranked below include Iraq (99th), Syria (100th), and Afghanistan (101st).
Countries ranked higher than Pakistan include Somalia (97th), Nepal (96th), and Bangladesh (84th). Meanwhile, Palestine, North Korea, and Eritrea are ranked 94th. Comparatively, India is 80th, China 59th, Iran 92nd, and Saudi Arabia 54th.
How Passport Rankings Work
The ranking is based on the number of countries a passport holder can visit without a visa. The strongest passports in the world belong to Singapore, Japan, and South Korea. Singapore tops the index, allowing travel to 192 countries without a visa, while Japan and South Korea provide access to 188 countries.
Top European Passports
Denmark, Luxembourg, Sweden, Spain, and Switzerland are in third place, with visa-free access to 186 countries.
Austria, Belgium, Ireland, Italy, France, Germany, Norway, Finland, Greece, and the Netherlands hold the fourth spot, with access to 185 countries.
Hungary, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, and the UAE share fifth place, allowing travel to 184 countries.
Despite the slight improvement, the Pakistani passport still offers limited global mobility, while top-ranked countries enjoy widespread visa-free travel.
