Security Forces Kill 12 Fitna al-Khawarij Terrorists in Kharan Operations

KHARAN—Security forces killed 12 terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij in three separate operations conducted across the region. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), a group of 15 to 20 terrorists was involved in various coordinated activities in Kharan.

During the unrest, the terrorists launched attacks on a local police station, the National Bank, and Habib Bank. The ISPR confirmed that the militants looted Rs 3.4 million from the banks during the assault. In response, security forces launched a swift and effective counteroperation to neutralize the threat.

A sanitization operation is currently underway in the area to eliminate any remaining terrorists and ensure public safety.

President’s Tribute to Security Forces

President Asif Ali Zardari paid a rich tribute to the security forces for successfully foiling the terrorist operations in Kharan. He congratulated the personnel for their timely and effective response, which thwarted an attempt by the militants to cause a massive loss of life and property.

The president reiterated the state’s resolve, asserting that the evil intentions of anti-national elements will be defeated at all costs. He declared that the state will continue to respond to those threatening the country’s stability with full force.
