Karachi Police Arrested Serial Rapist Linked to Over 100 Child Assaults

Karachi: In the largest operation of the year, a serial rapist accused of assaulting more than 100 children was arrested along with an accomplice following a tip-off from East Investigation One.

According to SP Investigation Usman Saduzai, the primary suspect, Imran, and his accomplice, Waqas Khan, were apprehended by a Special Investigation Team in the Tipu Sultan area after a victim was successfully identified.

Police officials stated that Additional IG Karachi Azad Khan formed the team on January 6. Under the leadership of DIG CIA Muqaddas Haider, the East Investigation unit successfully tracked down and arrested the most-wanted suspects within 11 days.

SP Usman Saduzai revealed that the accused, Imran, is a resident of Manzoor Colony and works as a puncture repairman. He has confessed to raping dozens of children over the past six years, typically luring them onto his motorcycle before taking them to the Malir River.

The SSP confirmed that the suspect’s DNA has matched in all seven registered cases. Additionally, victims have identified Imran in three separate cases, with one child recognizing both Imran and his accomplice, Waqas Khan. The suspects had previously taken a child to Surjani Town but fled the scene when the child raised an alarm.

The high-level investigation team included SSP Investigation Malir Asif Bagio, SSP AVCC Asif Raza, SP Investigation Korangi Qais Khan, SP Investigation East Usman Saduzai, and SP Investigation South Ali Hassan. The case was ultimately solved through the efforts of SP Investigation East One, Usman Saduzai.
